Day 68 – Analyzing Freezing and Melting Water

Chemistry 1 – Groups made whiteboards that showed their temperature vs. time graph for when they first froze water and then when it melted again.  They also answered what energy’s role in these processes was.  The group above did a nice job of modeling energy entering or leaving the system.

Screenshot 2013-12-11 15.27.55Physics 1 – We first finished our discussion on experimenting with and modeling the Gravitational Force as Fg = (10N/kg)m.  Groups then worked on some balanced force problems I put on the projector and attempted to quantitatively analyze them.  The above problem is a good one that took students a little effort to figure out because it combines N1L and N3L!

Chemistry 2 – We began working on a project that will end with groups creating a wikispaces page about an Organic Functional Group.
