Day 12

Chemistry 1 – Why is measuring correctly such a big deal?  Well we began to answer that question today with an uncertainty activity.  We used the nerd rulers and measured the length and width of a standard index card.  Using those numbers we calculated the area of the card.  By comparing the area calculations of all our classmates we are developing the idea of significant figures and the answer to my least favorite question, “where do I round?”

Day 12 Robot Day 12 Robot2Physics 1 – We began taking measurements from the movement of our new programmable S2 Robots.  I was able to obtain these robots from a grant I won from WSST (the Wisconsin Society of Science Teachers).  After collecting data we will graph it and see what kind of relationship we can find.

Chemistry 2 – We are working on problems involving use of the Ideal Gas Law and how that fits into Chemical Reactions.
