Chemistry 1 – We drew particle diagrams of the events of the Can Lab on whiteboards.  We shared our diagrams and discussed our ideas with the class.  The drawings we created are considered models (or representations) of the situations.  The models will help us to create a theory (or explain) why and how the can crushed.

Physics 1 – We finished measuring circles and began graphing our data.  The x-y graphs will help describe the relationship between the two data points that were measured.

Chemistry 2 – In small groups we checked the Unit 0 Practice 1 Nomenclature Review.  We then were given Unit 0 Practice 2 which reviews BCA table (stoichiometry) problems.  These problems help us predict the outcomes of chemical reactions.

I've been using the Modeling Method for 7 years now and have just recently begun using Standards Based Grading as a way to assess my students learning.
